New USAC class

usacThe University Studies Abroad Consortium (USAC) Fall Program has started on 29 August, at UFSC. USAC is a consortium of universities linked to UFSC via the Office of International Relations (SINTER) since 2013.  This edition, which will take place until 14 December at the Florianópolis Campus, has the participation of 30 international undergraduate students; 26 from American universities, 3 from Sweden and 1 from Norway.

This semester’s Program has started with an intensive 5-week Portuguese course and, from 3 October, there will be elective courses, all taught in English.

Besides the courses in International Development (Prof. Guilherme Moura), International Economics (Prof. Daniel Corrêa da Silva), Sustainable Agriculture (Prof. Cibele Longo), Latin American Political History (Prof. Clemente Penna), International Human Rights (Prof. Ligia Ribeiro), Architecture and Urbanism (Prof. Juliana Ramos), Latin American Social Inequalities (Prof. Daniel Corrêa da Silva), Brazilian Music & Dance (Prof. Carlos Guerola), Natural Resource Management (Prof. André Rovai), Principles of Conservation (Prof. Patricia Puechagut) and the Portuguese language course (Professors Laura Baltazar, Larissa Bougleux, Laisa dos Santos, Miguel Ribeiro, Rafael Dias and Márcia Fernandes), which were already offered in previous editions, the following courses are now offered to UFSC students:

Strategic Management & Policy – Prof. Rosalia Lavarda (Tuesdays and Thursdays, 15:20-17:00)

Anthropology & Culture – Prof. André Bakker (Tuesdays and Thursdays, 13:30-15:10)

Peoples of the Amazon – Prof. André Bakker (Tuesdays and Thursdays, 11:00-12:40)

Survey of Brazilian Literature – Prof. Marcelo Kremer (Tuesdays and Thursdays, 13:30-15:10)
