Applications are open for the USAC Study Buddy Program. USAC – University Studies Abroad Consortium – is a non-profit, university-based organization that has as one of its purposes to offer English learning opportunities for UFSC’s academic community. The Study Buddy Program is an initiative for UFSC students to get to know students from other countries and cultures and improve their English through practice.

At first, USAC will promote a few integration events, and, later, the UFSC student will keep in touch with his/her study buddy. If you are a student interested in participating in the program for the Summer Session II (July – August 2019), keep in mind that you will need to:

– have free time to meet with your buddy frequently;

– participate in the extra activities promoted by USAC, such as trekking and doing volunteer work;

– be able to include your buddy in your social activities and help him/her with getting to know the local culture.

You will also need to be able to communicate in English in order to help your buddy learn Portuguese while you practice your English skills.

Summer Session II begins on 30 June 2019 and ends on 3 August 2019. To participate in the Study Buddy Program, you must attend the welcoming session on Wednesday, 3 July, from 6 pm to 7 p.m. The location will soon be confirmed.

Application deadline is 27 June, until 11 pm.
