The student Gabriela Ferreira da Silva, from the International Relations program, was approved to participate in the 10^th edition of the Programme for the Strengthening of Civil Service in Latin America, an exchange program administered by the Spanish organization Fundación Botín that aims to promote vocation and talent for the civil service. Thirty-two undergraduate students are selected every year. Gabriela was selected among 6,315 contestants from 20 different countries of Latin America.

The Programme for the Strengthening of Civil Service in Latin America is an eight-week training program that is carried out in the United States, Spain and Colombia. The topics addressed in the program include project management, economy, public sector innovation, public speaking, creativity and political philosophy. The schedule also includes outdoor training activities, debate contests, development of a public innovation project and visits to Spanish institutions. In the 2019 edition, the training begins on 27 October and ends on 6 December.

This is the second time that UFSC has a student selected for the exchange. In 2014, Giulia Manccini Pinheiro, former Law degree student, attended the 5^th Edition of the Program.
