The Programa de Estudantes-Convênio de Graduação (PEC-G) is a cooperation agreement between the Brazilian government and other developing countries (from Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean), with which Brazil maintains educational and cultural agreements, with the purpose of developing human resources. It provides students from developing countries the opportunity to pursue their undergraduate studies in Brazil with the aim of applying the acquired knowledge in their home countries.
PEC-G is governed by the Ministry of External Relations (MRE) and the Ministry of Education (MEC). It does not send students abroad, only receives incoming students.
To apply, the student must go to the Brazilian Embassy of the country of origin. UFSC has an average of 100 PEC-G students enrolled in undergraduate programs.
