Registrations are open for the Portuguese as a Foreign Language Intensive Course at UFSC


The Portuguese as a Foreign Language Intensive course is usually offered one month prior to the beginning of the academic term at UFSC.  It is offered by the Center for Portuguese as a Foreign Language Teaching and Research (NUPLE), coordinated by the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures (DLLE). Students who pass this initial course receive a certificate and have the option to continue studying in the Portuguese as a Foreign Language extensive courses at other levels.

Course period: from 1 to 28 February, 2023. Carnival break from 20 to 23 February, 2023.

Course meetings: from Monday through Thursday – 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.

Location:  School of Communication and Arts (CCE) – B building. The class location will be sent to the registered students via email.

Level: beginner.  If there is a great number of registered students, a class at a more advanced level may be offered.

Course load: 50 class hours.

Assessment: students must obtain a minimum grade of 6.0 and 75% attendance to pass the course.

Number of seats: 20 (note: the course will only run if there is a minimum of 12 participants)

Course fee: R$ 320.00 (for exchange students) – registration will only be accepted after payment is confirmed.
