PEC-G

The Programa de Estudantes-Convênio de Graduação [PEC-G], officially created in 1965 by Decree 55613 and currently ruled by Decree 11923, of 15 February 2024 and by the Interministerial Ordinance MEC/MRE no. 7, of 4 June 2024, provides students from countries with which Brazil maintains educational, cultural or scientific and technological agreements the opportunity to pursue their undergraduate studies in Brazilian Higher Education Institutions (HEIs).

PEC-G is administered by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE), through the Division of Educational Themes (DCE), and the Ministry of Education (MEC), in partnership with HEIs throughout the country. The selection process for admission to the PEC-G program is not managed by UFSC.

To apply, the student must follow all application procedures described in the Call for Applications. Questions should be addressed to the Brazilian Embassy or Consulate of any participating country, where they may start the application.

Between 1970 and 2024, approximately 670 students enrolled in the program at UFSC, with 405 successfully graduating. As of December 2024, 67 PEC-G students were enrolled in UFSC undergraduate programs, coming from countries in Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean, along with one student from Asia.
