Last week, on 30 and 31 May, the SINTEGRA project promoted a training called: “Trajetórias estudantis internacionais: Acolhimento e integração no Programa Estudantes Convênio-Graduação (PEC-G)” [International student paths: welcoming and integration in the PEC-G Program]. SINTEGRA is a partnership between the Office of International Relations (SINTER) and the professors of the Department of Psychology Elka Lima Hostensky (Coordinator), Ligia Feitosa and Lia Vainer Schucman, together with a team of academics.

The training was aimed at SINTER staff and internationalization agents (there were representatives from Curitibanos, Araranguá and Blumenau campuses). The conceptual bases of welcoming in higher education were presented and workshops were held based on games and situations that involve social, cultural, pedagogical, psychological and other demands of these students.

Other sectors at UFSC, to which the PEC-G students can be referred to follow-up according to their demands, also participated in the training. The participating sectors were: ACOLHE-UFSC; Prorectorate for Student Affairs (PRAE); Office of Affirmative Action and Diversities (SAAD); Prorectorate for Undergraduate Studies (PROGRAD), through its Pedagogical Support and Evaluation Coordination Office; and the Intercultural Clinic (linked to the Psychology, Migration and Culture Studies Center – NEMPsiC).
