The Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC), through its Permanent Entrance Examination Committee (Coperve), has opened applications for its admission selection process for refugees, low-income asylum seekers, and humanitarian visa holders. The available places are for entry in the second semester of 2026.

Applications are free of charge and must be submitted exclusively via the website www.refugiados2026.ufsc.br by 14 May 2026.

To apply, candidates must provide a Brazilian Individual Taxpayer Identification number (CPF) and an official photo ID. Preliminary confirmation of application will be available from 19 May, and the final confirmation – including the test location – will be released by 9 June on the selection process website.

This selection process offers 10 remaining places in UFSC undergraduate programs from the 2026 Unified Entrance Examination (Vestibular) and Unified Selection System (SiSU). Applicants will be ranked based on their performance in the admission test, with a limit of one place per program.

The test will take place on 28 June 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, and will consist of an essay written exclusively in Portuguese. Presentation of an official photo ID is required to sit the test.

This initiative is part of UFSC’s affirmative action policies and aims to expand access to public higher education for individuals in situations of social and migratory vulnerability.
