UFSC, represented by the administrative coordinator of The Office of International Relations (SINTER), Fernanda Leal,  and by the professor of the program of Pós-graduação em Administração Universitária (PPGAU), Dra. Luciane Stallivieri, attended the I Seminário de Internacionalização do Currículo (SeIoC), promoted by the Universidade do Vale do Itajaí (Univali), in Balneário Camboriú.

The event aimed to discuss one of the main questions pointed by the Internationalization fo Higher Education and, above all, by domestic internationalization (the internationalization of the own campi): the reformulation of the curricula of courses and teaching and evaluation practices. It is about the beginning of a recognition process that the curriculum is the basis for a international and intercultural formation, aiming the promotion of global citizenship.

The SeIoC started on 12 November, with the statement of Dr. Valerie Clifford (Oxford Brookes University, United Kingdom), “Internationalized Curriculum as a fundament of Global Citizenship”.  On the same day, were offered workshops with the titles “Elaboração e desenvolvimento de currículos internacionalizados“; “Interação entre estudantes domésticos e internacionais“; “Ensino de línguas para a cidadania global” and “Facilitadores e dificultadores no processo de internacionalização de uma Instituição de Ensino Superior brasileira“.

On 13 November, happened the roung table “Interculturalismo e Empregabilidade“, by Prof. Dr. Luciane Stallivieri (UFSC), in which attended Dr. Rosa Maria Siqueira Piedade (Universidade Aberta de Lisboa, Portugal), Dr. Vanessa Andreotti (University of British Columbia, Canada) and Dr. Verônica Gesser (Univali). Finaly, there were presented various comunications of internationalization area, and two of them refered to UFSC study cases: “O processo de internacionalização e a relação entre universidades e empresas: O caso dos programas de Doutorado UFSC (CAPES 7)” (Patrícia Duarte Peixoto Morella) and “Websites institucionais como facilitadores no processo de ajustamento intercultural de estudantes internacionais: O caso de uma universidade brasileira” (Thiago Luiz de Oliveira e Luciane Stallivieri).

The II SeIoC, that will happen on November 2016 already has the confirmation of the presence of Dr. Lisa Childress, from George Washington University (United States of America).
