Important Information

1. Access to the system

If your institution does not have access to the UFSC application system yet, we kindly ask you to inform us the e-mail address of the person responsible for nominating students, so that we can send them a password. If you already have a password, this is the link you should use to nominate the students: http://www.incoming.sinter.ufsc.br/publico/loginInstituicao.xhtml

2. Required attendance

Students should apply for at least 15 hours of exchange activities per week (totaling 270 hours in the semester), as required by the Interministerial Ordinance no. 7, of 13 March 2018. Therefore, attendance in at least 12 hours of undergraduate courses per week is mandatory. The remaining hours can be completed in language courses, outreach projects, and other activities to be authorized by the Office of International Relations at UFSC.

3. Number weekly courses and hours

In the application system, students can apply for up to seven courses.  To meet the requirements in item 2, acceptance in at least 12 hours of undergraduate courses per week – totaling 216 hours in the semester – is mandatory. Therefore, when filling in the Learning Agreement, students are advised to exceed the minimum hours required in courses, taking into account that enrollment requests are reviewed by the responsible departments and acceptance in all selected courses is not guaranteed.

4. Required changes

Changes in the selection of courses may be made after enrollment, upon arrival in Brazil, but they should not exceed 25 class hours a week. In order to check all the undergraduate courses offered at the university, including their schedule and descriptions, access the following link: http://cagr.sistemas.ufsc.br/modules/comunidade/cadastroTurmas/index.xhtml

5. The above deadlines must be strictly observed. Please inform your students about them.

7. Choice of campus for the exchange.

Students can study on any of UFSC’s campuses and the choice of campus must be made upon application. We ask them to choose carefully, based on the distance between campuses, the programs offered and their personal interests. More information on the UFSC campuses can be found here: http://sinter.ufsc.br/incoming/campi/?lang=en

NOTE: Students from your institution who are currently on exchange at UFSC and would like to extend their stay for the second semester of 2026 (from August to December) need to access the application system again to request for an extension and choose their courses until 09 May 2026.  The home institution should access the system to confirm the student’s request until 10 May 2026.

Note: Mobility in the Medicine Program at UFSC runs independently from SINTER and does not accept students to attend theoretical courses, only internships. So we kindly ask you to not consider this calendar for application to the Medicine Program. Students interested in taking courses or doing internship in Medicine should contact the Program Coordinator directly (medicina.estagios@contato.ufsc.br). For further information, visit the program’s website.
