PROMISAES

The Milton Santos Project for Access to Higher Education (Projeto Milton Santos de Acesso ao Ensino SuperiorPROMISAES) is an initiative of the Brazilian Ministry of Education (MEC) that offers PEC-G students regularly enrolled at a Federal Higher Education Institution (HEI) a financial aid to support their studies. The monthly award is worth R$ 622.00 (six hundred, twenty two reais) and is granted for a period of 12 months, which can be renewed annually.

To apply, PEC-G students at UFSC must have their socieconomic registration approved by the Prorectorate for Student Affairs (PRAE). They may be engaged in other paid activities, provided that it is a curricular or scientific initiation activity (internships included), but they cannot be awarded with the PROMISAES grant if they receive a Merit grant, offered by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE).

At UFSC, students are selected for the PROMISAES through a Call for Applications released annually by the Office of International Relations (SINTER).
