PROMISAES
The Milton Santos Project for Access to Higher Education (Projeto Milton Santos de Acesso ao Ensino Superior – PROMISAES) is an initiative of the Brazilian Ministry of Education (MEC) that offers PEC-G students regularly enrolled at a Federal Higher Education Institution (HEI) a financial aid to support their studies. The monthly award is worth R$ 622.00 (six hundred, twenty two reais) and is granted for a period of 12 months, which can be renewed annually.
To apply, PEC-G students at UFSC must have their socieconomic registration approved by the Prorectorate for Student Affairs (PRAE). They may be engaged in other paid activities, provided that it is a curricular or scientific initiation activity (internships included), but they cannot be awarded with the PROMISAES grant if they receive a Merit grant, offered by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE).
At UFSC, students are selected for the PROMISAES through a Call for Applications released annually by the Office of International Relations (SINTER).
