UFSC signs partnership with Zhejiang University International Business School (ZIBS), China
The Office of International Relations (SINTER) attended the online signing ceremony of the Cooperation Agreement between the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC) and the Zhejiang University International Business School (ZIBS), China. The partnership was established through the Institute for Studies on China (ICHIN) at UFSC.
The following representatives of UFSC and ZIBS were present: Prof. Irineu Manuel de Souza, Rector of UFSC; Prof. Raúl Burgos, Coordinator of ICHIN; Prof. Daniel Martins, Deputy Coordinator of ICHIN; Luciana Miashiro Lima, representing the Office of International Relations (SINTER); Paula Eduarda Michels, English/Portuguese Translator and Interpreter at UFSC; Ben Shenglin, Dean of ZIBS; Shen Li, Assistant Dean and Chief Operating Officer (COO); Lisha Chenqi, working in International Communication and Collaboration; Yaqiao Yu (Kate), Director of International Partnerships; and Rodrigo Moura, Executive Director of ZIBS Latin America Center.
During the online meeting, areas for possible collaboration were discussed, once both institutions seek to promote cultural, educational, and scientific cooperation. They aim to work together in research, training, curriculum, institutional development, dissemination of information, exchange of faculty, students, and technical-administrative staff members, and participation in seminars, research, forums, and other joint activities.
The intention of developing joint research between the Institute for Studies on China (ICHIN) at UFSC and the ZIBS Latin America Center (ZLAC). ZIBS has special interest in promoting fintechs, innovation, smart cities, and other possibilities in these areas.
