Guimarães Rosa Support Program for PEC Students
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE) has introduced the Guimarães Rosa Support Program for PEC Students.
The program offers the following benefits:
a) Instituto Guimarães Rosa (IGR) grants;
b) Financial aid for returning to the home country.
PEC-G students at UFSC can apply for three categories of IGR grants:
- Merit Grant – awarded based on academic performance;
The call for applications is published biannually by the MRE. Once released, SINTER/UFSC announces the application procedures on its website. Applications are submitted to SINTER, while the MRE is responsible for the selection process.
- Incentive Grant – for students in priority fields and from strategic partner countries;
The application procedures are carried out by the MRE.
- Emergency Grant – for students facing urgent financial difficulties.
The Joint Normative Ordinance no. 1/2025/PRAE/SINTER, of 10 March 2025 establishes the procedures for PEC-G students at UFSC to apply for the IGR/MRE Emergency Grant.
To apply for any of the benefits, PEC-G students must carefully review the specific eligibility criteria outlined in the applicable regulations.
