  • Applications open for the SINTER Study Buddy Program

    Applications are now open for the Study Buddy Program intended for undergraduate exchange students who will arrive at UFSC for the 2022.1 semester.

    The Study Buddy Program is a volunteer program in which UFSC students give guidance and assistance to incoming exchange students on how to proceed in their first days in Florianópolis and at UFSC. In return, it provides our regular students the opportunity to get in contact with students from foreign universities and cultures from all over the world.

    This is a wonderful opportunity for you to start your exchange experience. You will practice another language, get to know other cultures and make foreign friends at UFSC!

  • ERASMUS + UFSC – UHK 2022 Mobility Program – Final Results

    The Office of International Relations (SINTER) announces the final results of the selection for the Erasmus+UFSC UHK 2022 Mobility Program, according to the Call for Applications no. 1/SINTER/2022.

  • SINTER prepares for the return of its in-person activities: office hours by appointment

    After the period of online work due to the pandemic, the Office of International Relations at UFSC prepares for the return of its in-person activities in the Rectorate Building II.

    The return to the office follows the guidelines of the Normative Ordinance no. 421/2021/GR and has been studied by a specialized Commission in order to make the gradual resumption of in-person activities as safe as possible, meeting all health standards.

    According to the Ordinance, the date scheduled for the start of Phase 2 for combating the COVID-19 pandemic at UFSC is 14 February 2022. During Phase 2, the following in-person activities are allowed: activities with an impact on COVID-19 or other essential activities approved by the Central Administration, essential in-person organization, and execution of general (administrative and pedagogical) blended activities.

    The main activities of SINTER that involve in-person services have been listed and will be carried out by appointment via email.

    To schedule an appointment, please send an email to the respective staff member with the details of your matter. Our staff contact list is available here.

    Please note that no exceptional cases will be considered, as SINTER’s physical space is limited and does not allow for crowds.

    Therefore, those who need our in-person assistance will be able to schedule their appointments from 14 February 2022.

    Attention: The use of face masks is mandatory. People who fail to comply with the health standards will not be allowed in the office.

  • NILT presents the course: Written Production in English – Abstracts

    SINTER

    The Institutional Center for Languages and Translation (NILT/SINTER) offers the online English course “Written Production in English– Abstracts”. The course is aimed at faculty, staff and students at UFSC. Classes will take place remotely, via Moodle, and applications will be open from 7 to 14 February.

    The goal of the course is to capacitate students to produce abstracts, identify the characteristics of the genre, and compare and contrast different types of abstracts. Intermediate knowledge of English – at B1, B2 or C1 level – is recommended.

    Classes will take place from 17 February to 25 March. The course content will be available on Moodle for independent study. Evaluation activities will be carried out asynchronously and sent to the instructor’s e-mail on the following dates: 22 and 28 February, and 4, 9, 16 and 23 March.

  • PROMISAES Financial Support for PEC-G students at UFSC – Applications open from 2 February to 31 October 2022

    The Office of International Relations (SINTER) announces that applications for the 2022 PROMISAES Financial Support are open from 2 February to 31 October 2022. The awards are offered by the Ministry of Education (MEC) to students from the Programa de Estudantes-Convênio de Graduação (PEC-G) at UFSC.
