  • Applications open for the SINTER 2020.1 Study Buddy Program

    The applications for the Study Buddy Programfirst semester 2020 are open! The Study Buddy Program is a volunteer program in which UFSC students give guidance and assistance to incoming exchange students on how to proceed in their first days in Florianópolis and at UFSC. In return, it provides our regular students the opportunity to get in contact with students from foreign universities and cultures from all over the world.

    This is a wonderful opportunity for you to have an exchange experience without going abroad, as well as to practice another language, get to know other cultures and make foreign friends at UFSC!

    Deadline for applications is 9 December 2019.

  • 2019 USAC Scholarship Program for undergraduate students and administrative staff members – Final Results

    The Resident Director of the Universities Study Abroad Consortium (USAC), in partnership with the Office of International Relations (SINTER), and in accordance with the Call for Applications of 16 September 2019, announces the results of the selection process for undergraduate students and administrative staff members to participate in the 2019 USAC Scholarship Program.

    The applicants of the German Language and Literature Program did not meet the criterion E of item 7.7 of the Call. Therefore, the USAC Resident Director has relocated the scholarship to a student of the French Language and Literature Program, in accordance with item 10.2 of the Call.

    USAC will contact each selected students or administrative staff members individually.

  • SINTER releases English writing guide for the university community

    The Office of International Relations (SINTER) has prepared a guide to assist in the writing of institutional documents and correspondences in English at the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC).

    Aiming to contribute to the university’s internationalization efforts, the guide includes instructions on how to write a formal correspondence in English, brings a series of useful phrases and expressions for letters and emails, and makes other recommendations about the use of English, besides providing document templates to be used by the academic community.

  • Lecture on doctoral study opportunities at the University of Debrecen, Hungary

    On 9 October, at 5:30 p.m., and on 10 October, at 2 p.m., Professor József Baranyi will give a lecture on doctoral study opportunities at the University of Debrecen, in Hungary. The event will take place at the EQA Auditorium 1 on the UFSC Florianópolis Campus. Baranyi will explain about the project funding, the scholarship opportunities, the research topics, and other matters. The thesis topics are: “New, truly interdisciplinary areas, Predictive Food Microbiology and Computational Nutrition“.

  • Office of International Relations promotes lecture about study opportunities in France

    On 24 October, Thursday, the Office of International Relations (SINTER) will promote a lecture about studying in France. The lecture will be given by Valentine Jube, of Campus France Brasil, an official French government agency present in more than 110 countries and responsible for the promotion of higher education in France. Master’s and doctoral study and scholarship opportunities will be presented for undergraduate and graduate students. The event will take place at the Mechanical Engineering Auditorium, in the School of Technology, starting at 10:30 a.m. All the academic community is invited to participate.

  • 2019 USAC scholarships (students) – Second Stage – Preliminary Results

    The Resident Director of the Universities Study Abroad Consortium (USAC) in Florianópolis, in the exercise of his powers, and pursuant to the Call for Applications of 16 September 2019, announces the second stage results of the selection process of undergraduate students from the UFSC Foreign Language and Literature licenciatura programs to participate in an exchange program. One student from each Language and Literature program (English, French, German, Italian and Spanish) will receive a scholarship.

    The students who obtained the highest grades in the motivation letter were selected for the third stage, in accordance with item 7.4 of the Call.

    The interviews will take place from 14 to 18 October 2019, at the School of Communication and Arts. The applicants will receive, by e-mail, the date, time and place of their interviews.

  • 2019 USAC scholarships (administrative staff members) – Preliminary Results

    The Resident Director of the Universities Study Abroad Consortium (USAC) in Florianópolis, in the exercise of his powers, and pursuant to the Call for Applications of 16 September 2019, announces the preliminary results of the selection process of UFSC administrative staff members to participate in a study program at the Intensive English Language Center (IELC), in the University of Nevada, USA. The selected applicant will receive a scholarship for the Summer Session (June – August).

    6 applicants were selected in accordance with item 8.4 of the Call.

    The approved applicants, listed below in alphabetical order, will be called for the interviews that will take place on 4 October 2019 at the School of Communication and Arts (CCE):
