  • Applications open for the Outgoing Program – UFSC students

    The Office of International Relations (SINTER) has published a call with the rules for UFSC undergraduate students to apply for exchange via Outgoing Program.

    UFSC online application system will remain open until 30 November 2019. To do the exchange, the students will need to follow  the deadlines of the host institution according to the rules established in the call.

  • Lecture about exchange opportunities for Chemical and Material Engineering students

    On 14 March 2019, a lecture about exchange opportunities and scholarships in France will be held at the Chemical Engineering  Auditorium. The event for Chemical and Materials Engineering students will take place at 3:30 p.m.

    The Director of the International Relations Office of the École Nationale Supèrieure de Chimie de Lilli – ENSCL, Zahia Turpin, will present details about ENSCL and the BRAFITEC program.

    The event is a result of a partnership  between SINTER, the BRAFITEC Coordinator in the area of Chemical Engineering at UFSC, Professor Agenor Fúrigo, and ENSCL, with which UFSC has a cooperation agreement.


  • UFSC welcomes foreign exchange students

    On 8 March, the Office of International Relations (SINTER) will hold a welcome session for foreign exchange students coming to study at UFSC during the first semester of 2019. The event will take place at the Rectorate Building’s Auditorium, at 10 a.m., and will have the participation of UFSC’s Rector and the Secretary for International Relations. In addition to welcoming the students, the session will include cultural activities and a coffee break.

    UFSC will welcome 150 foreign students from 19 countries through the Incoming, BRACOL, BRAMEX and AUGM programs. The Incoming Program receives students from partners institutions, with which UFSC holds through bilateral agreements, without scholarships. The other programs, of which UFSC is a part, include financial assistance for incoming and outgoing students.

    Besides the exchange students, UFSC will also welcome 18 students from the Exchange Program for Undergraduate Students (PEC-G), coming from 10 different countries to pursue their degrees at UFSC.

  • Doctoral dissertation defense in the scope of a bilateral agreement between IPVC and UFSC

    On 22 February, the first Doctoral dissertation defenses scheduled in the scope of the FCT/CAPES Transnational Cooperations – Bilateral Agreements Project, established between IPVC and UFSC, took place at the Instituto Politécnico de Viana do Castelo, Portugal. Antônio Augusto Morini defended his dissertation entitled “Pré-avaliação da energia incorporada e da pegada de carbono como requisitos para seleção de materiais nas fases iniciais do desenvolvimento de produtos” [Pre-assessment of embodied energy and carbon footprint as requirements for material selection in the early stages of product development].

  • Registrations open for USAC Spring 2019 courses in English

    The University Studies Abroad Consortium (USAC) is a non-profit organization that has as one of its purposes to offer English learning opportunities for UFSC’s academic community.

    In this sense, it offers seats for UFSC students to attend courses in several areas – all of them taught completely in English. These courses are also attended by USAC foreign students.

    To register, students must have an advanced level of English, especially of listening, writing and speaking skills, since student participation during classes is essential.

    Students who attend at least 75% of the classes will receive a course completion certificate.

    Requirements:

    • Be regularly enrolled at UFSC;
    • Have an advanced level of English (classes and course material will be in English);
    • Have time availability and commitment to attend classes.

    There are no course prerequisites and students from any undergraduate program may register.

    Registration:

    Those interested in attending the courses must go to USAC’s office (Room 219, Building A – CCE) to write an essay, do a brief interview in English, hand in their courses schedule for the 2019.1 semester, and sign an agreement term.

    Registration period: from 22 to 28 February 2019 – Monday to Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

  • UFSC student will participate of the United Nations ECOSOC Youth Forum in New York

    Alícia Amancio, International Relations student at UFSC

    The UFSC International Relations student Alícia Amancio will represent the International Youth Climate Movement in the 8th Annual Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) Youth Forum.

    Organized by the United Nations (UN), the event will take place in New York on 8 and 9 April 2019.

    Alícia also participated in the 24th Conference of the Parties of the United Nations Climate Change Convention (COP24), which was held in Katowice, Polland, between 3 and 14 December 2018.
