On UFSC Araranguá Campus, two outreach projects are being developed at the School of Sciences, Technologies and Health by professors and students of the Energy Engineering Program, in partnership with German organizations.

• Plant of the Planet (https://www.plant-for-the-planet.org/en/home)
  Targeted at schools in the municipality of Araranguá, it seeks to encourage environmental awareness, planting trees and climate protection. The project is taken to schools by students of the energy engineering program, taking into account that the energy sector is a major contributor of the emissions that contribute to the concentration of greenhouse gases.
• Technology Without Borders (https://www.teog.ngo/en/?lang=en)
  Targeted at energy engineering students for the application of community projects in the region of Araranguá. The projects aim at the use of renewable energies through the implementation of social technologies.

The program is an initiative between Europe and Brazil that offers Sandwich PhD exchange or research period in Coimbra Group (CG) Universities or in universities associated with the Coimbra Group of Brazilian Universities (CGBU). Applications are open from 10 September to 15 September 2017, and the opportunity is for postdoctoral students, researchers and professors from CG or CGBU member universities who wish to go on mobility during the first half of the Brazilian academic year 2018.

Applications can be sent until 15 September 2017.

The theme of the minicourse will be “Latin America as a dysfunctional family: conferences for analysis of regional integration processes” and it will be lectured by Professor Sébastien Dubé from the Universidad de Santiago de Chile, who came to UFSC through the AUGM Escala Docente program.

Applications for the Bolsa Mérito (a merit scholarship aimed for students from the Programa de Estudantes-Convênio de Graduação– PEC-G at UFSC) for the second semester of 2017 are open between 28 June and 21 July 2017.

Offered by the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE), the Bolsa Mérito  consists of a monthly scholarship worth R$ 622,00 (six hundred and twenty two reais), which is granted for a period of 6 months.
