(Português (Brasil)) UFSC recebe 38 novos alunos estrangeiros nos programas de estudantes-convênio
The Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC) will receive until early 2016, a total of 38 foreign students by the Programas de Estudante-Convênio de Graduação ( PEC- G) and Pós-Graduação (PEC- PG). Of the 75 members of the PEC-PG supported this year, seven will study at UFSC, which according to data from the Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (Capes), is the second university in the south of the country that receives the majority of students in the program.The professor and deputy secretary of Internatinal Relations at UFSC, Luiz Carlos Pinheiro Machado Filho assesses that the agreement student programs reinforce the multi-ethnic character of the University. “In addition to the provided solidarity , we received young people from different countries and continents , to enrich the cultural and academic atmosphere of UFSC . It is thus a two-way cooperation”, he says.

(Português (Brasil)) Professor da UFSC participa de conferência internacional promovida pela UNESCO
Gilvan Müller de Oliveira, professor of Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina from Departamento de Língua e Literatura Vernáculas (DLLV) and from Programa de Pós-Graduação em Linguística (PPGL), was present in an international conference promoted by UNESCO and entitled Multilingüismo en el Ciberespacio: Lenguajes Indígenas para el Empoderamiento, realized on 27 and 28 November, at San José (Costa Rica). Prof. Gilvan presented brazilian experiences in promotion ofplurilingualism with the presentation “Políticas linguísticas para el multilingüismo y formación universitária del profesorado indígena en Brasil”, in which he explained about intercultural bilingual degrees offered nowadays by many brazilian public universities as privileged foruns for digital inclusion of brazilian languages, in the way proposed by UNESCO, through its conexion to various linguistic policies in Brazil. The presentation was part of “Sesión 3: Panel – Marcos legales con respecto a las políticas en educación” and counted with the presence of participants from Costa Rica, Honduras, Peru, Guatemala and United States.

Mujica at UFSC: “I’m in love with life”
The senator and former President of Uruguay José Mujica ended his speech at the opening ceremony of the 11th Conference of the Latin American Youth on Climate Change ( COY11 ) with a very specific request: “Please, be no traitors to what is about to come”. And he went out , leaving in the air the weight of the words he spoke for about an hour and twenty minutes before the 1300 people who occupied all over the Garapuvu Auditorium on the evening of Thursday, November 26.

UFSC attends the Seminário de Internacionalização do Currículo – Univali, Balneário Camboriú, 12 and 13/11/2015
UFSC, represented by the administrative coordinator of The Office of International Relations (SINTER), Fernanda Leal, and by the professor of the program of Pós-graduação em Administração Universitária (PPGAU), Dra. Luciane Stallivieri, attended the I Seminário de Internacionalização do Currículo (SeIoC), promoted by the Universidade do Vale do Itajaí (Univali), in Balneário Camboriú.
The event aimed to discuss one of the main questions pointed by the Internationalization fo Higher Education and, above all, by domestic internationalization (the internationalization of the own campi): the reformulation of the curricula of courses and teaching and evaluation practices. It is about the beginning of a recognition process that the curriculum is the basis for a international and intercultural formation, aiming the promotion of global citizenship.

The post-graduation course in Oceanography at Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC) promotes the lecture “Como os Acadêmicos Podem Influenciar as Políticas de Proteção aos Oceanos” by Prof. Dr. Tony Haymet – director of Scripps Institution of Oceanography University of California San Diego. The Office of International Relations (SINTER) publishes the Edital n.º 16/2015/SINTER, 23 November 2015 (rectified in 10 December 2015), the will select two technical and administrative staff in education ar UFSC for exchange in one of the member universities of Asociación de Universidades Grupo Montevideo (AUGM), through thePrograma Escala de Gestores y Administradores. Staff that have been working at UFSC for, at least, three years are able to participate.
