UFSC renews cooperation agreement with Universidad Técnica Particular de Loja, Ecuador
Last Wednesday, 5 April, the renewal of the cooperation agreement with the Universidad Técnica Particular de Loja (UTPL), from Ecuador, took place in the Rector’s Office at UFSC.
The renewal ceremony was attended by the Rector of UTPL, Santiago Acosta Aide, together with other UTPL authorities; the Rector of UFSC, Irineu Manoel de Souza; the Head of the Rector’s Office, Bernardo Meyer; the Dean and the Vice-Dean of the School of Socio-Economic Sciences (CSE), Maria Denize Henrique Casagrande and Daniel Ricardo Castelan; the Secretary for International Relations, Luiz Carlos Pinheiro Machado Filho; the Prorector for Research and Innovation, Jacques Mick; the Director of the Institute for Research and Studies in University Administration (Inpeau); and the Head of the Department of Administrative Sciences, Pedro Antônio de Melo, who is the coordinator of the agreement.

The Institutional Center for Languages and Translation (NILT), managed by the Office of International Relations (SINTER), announced that registration is open for the Introduction to Brazilian Portuguese – A1 [Level 2] course. The course is free and intended for the entire international community at UFSC and the foreign community in general.

Online meeting about virtual exchange and COIL at UFSC
On 29 March, the Office of International Relations (SINTER) promoted an online meeting about virtual exchange and Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL). The goal was to start the discussion about the possibilities of carrying out such forms of internationalization in a standardized and institutionalized way at UFSC. The meeting was attended by the Director of International Relations, Fernanda Leal, the International Programs Coordinator, Guilherme da Costa, and the Virtual Exchange Coordinator, professor Kátia Madruga, as well as by faculty members from different departments who are interested in the topic. The discussion will continue and the idea is to have a training session on the subject this year.
