NILT launches the course “Francophonie et mobilité étudiante”
The Institutional Center for Languages and Translation (NILT/SINTER) promotes the course “Francophonie et mobilité étudiante” [Francophony and student mobility]. The aim of the course is for participants to broaden their knowledge of the French language and become familiar with the francophone university education system. The course is open to the entire university community – students, faculty and staff – and registrations run from 22 May to 1 June 2022.The course totals eight hours and two groups – with 15 seats each – will be offered. A B1-level proficiency in French is required and the classes will be held in person, with support from the Moodle platform for complementary activities. Group 1: morning period. Classes on 6, 8, 13 and 15 June, from 10 am to 11:30 am.
Group 2: afternoon period. Classes on 7, 9, 14 and 16 June, from 2 pm to 3:30 pm.

How to Study in Belgium: webinar will be streamed this Thursday, 19 May
The webinar How to Study in Belgium, promoted by SINTER, will be held this Thursday, 19 May, at 2 pm, on the UFSC International YouTube channel.
Ms. Elodie Meunier, representative from WBI, a Belgian study promotion agency, will present the exchange opportunities for Brazilian undergraduate and graduate students in Belgium, including information about scholarship programs, application criteria and ways to participe.
The event will last 1 hour and the participation is free. In addition to Ms. Meunier’s talk, the webinar will include time for questions. This is an opportunity for you to learn more about study abroad possibilities. Click here and join us there!

AUGM Escala Posgrado Program – Applications open
The Office of International Relations (SINTER) announces that applications are open for the Escala Posgrado program of the Asociación de Universidades Grupo Montevideo [Association of Montevideo Group Universities] (AUGM), according to the Call for Applications no. 10 SINTER 2022. Four places will be offered to students regularly enrolled in an UFSC graduate program: two for master’s students and two for doctoral students. The selected students will be exempted from paying tuition fees at the Host University and will also receive accommodation and food allowance. Applicants must send all the documentation required digitized in PDF format to augm.sinter@contato.ufsc.br until 1 June 2022.

UFSC holds a meeting with the Austrian university Uni-Graz
On 12 May, the Office of International Relations (SINTER) held a meeting with Ms. Christa Grassauer, Ms. Doris Knasar and Ms. Petra Rabitsch, representatives of the Universität Graz (Uni-Graz).The Austrian representatives presented their institution and discussed possible research partnerships, taking into account the research areas in which Uni-Graz stands out: climate change, market regulation, mathematics and natural sciences.
UFSC and Uni-Graz already have an agreement that allows the exchange of up to 5 undergraduate students per year between the institutions. During the virtual meeting, the welcoming actions for exchange students at Uni-Graz were also emphasized, such as the reception of international students, the study buddy program and the German language course.

AUGM Escala Gestores y Administradores – Applications open
Applications are open for the Escala de Gestores y Administradores program, promoted by the Asociación de Universidades Grupo Montevideo [Association of Montevideo Group Universities] (AUGM). Application deadline is 31 May 2022 and the rules to apply are established in the Call for Applications no. 8 SINTER 2022.
Five places are being offered to technical and administrative staff members from the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC). One of those is reserved for SINTER’s staff, and the other four are available for staff from other university sectors that work directly in the strengthening and consolidation of the University’s internationalization process.
To be eligible, applicants must work in the institution for at least three years. They must send all the documentation required in PDF format to augm.sinter@contato.ufsc.br. UFSC will provide the selected staff with round-trip air tickets in economy class, and the host university is responsible for organizing and providing accommodation and food, following its own criteria, as described in the AUGM Call for Applications 2022.

Selection process for a doctoral scholarship at the Institutional Center for Language and Translation (NILT) – Applications open
The Institutional Center for Language and Translation (NILT) has opened applications for doctoral students interested in working as a content producer and tutor in the Portuguese as a Foreign Language course.
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be regularly enrolled in the Doctoral Program in Knowledge Engineering and Management at UFSC. Area of concentration: Knowledge Media;
- Do not intend to graduate during the scholarship period (until December 2022);
- Have experience with digital platforms;
- Be available to work 20 hours/week;
- Have experience in the areas of instructional design, distance education, tutoring, monitoring or other pedagogical activities.
Places: 01 (one)
Scholarship amount: R$ 1100
Total hours per week: 20 hours
Application period: From 10 to 31 May 2022
The Simplified Selection Process will occur in two stages: the first one consists in document reviewing and is a qualifying stage; the second one consists in an interview (recorded) and/or written test that will rank the qualified applicants.

Applications open for the Botín Foundation Exchange Program

The Botín Foundation has launched the XIII edition of the Programme for the Consolidation of the Civil Service in Latin America, whose aim is to promote the development of the region through a network of students interested in public administration in Latin America.
This year’s edition will be carried out between October and December and will include a month and a half training in Spain, Brazil and Colombia.
Students interested in participating should observe the deadlines: to obtain UFSC’s signature in the Letter of Presentation, the letter must be sent to SINTER by 10 May.
Every year, 32 Latin American undergraduate students with leadership profiles and talent for public services are selected to participate in an intensive course that includes lectures, classes, institutional visits, debates, projects, outdoor training, and personal qualification.
The program scholarship covers airfare, transfer, housing and other expenses during the whole course.
