  • Applications open for the SINTER Study Buddy Program

    Applications are now open for the Study Buddy Program intended for undergraduate exchange students who will arrive at UFSC for the 2022.2 semester.

    The Study Buddy Program is a volunteer program in which UFSC students give guidance and assistance to incoming exchange students on how to proceed in their first days in Florianópolis and at UFSC. In return, it provides our regular students the opportunity to get in contact with students from foreign universities and cultures from all over the world.

    This is a wonderful opportunity for you to start your exchange experience. You will practice another language, get to know other cultures and make foreign friends at UFSC!

  • AUGM Escala Gestores e Administradores Program– Preliminary Results

    The Office of International Relations (SINTER)  announces the preliminary results of the pre-selection of  administrative staff members to go on an exchange in one of the partner universities of the Asociación de Universidades Grupo Montevideo (AUGM) through the Programa Escala de Gestores y Administradores, in accordance with the Call for Applications 08/2022/SINTER,  of 10 May 2022.

    In accordance with the Call for Applications, SINTER will nominate up to 10 applicants, and the host institution will make the selection. If there are more applicants eligible than the number of places offered in the program, a final selection will be made based in the ranking above.

    Applicants wishing to file an appeal against the preliminary results of the selection process must do so until 11:59 p.m. on 6 June 2022. The appeal must be sent to augm.sinter@contato.ufsc.br, in accordance with the terms established in the Call.


  • SINTEGRA project carries out training for staff members

    Last week, on 30 and 31 May, the SINTEGRA project promoted a training called: “Trajetórias estudantis internacionais: Acolhimento e integração no Programa Estudantes Convênio-Graduação (PEC-G)” [International student paths: welcoming and integration in the PEC-G Program]. SINTEGRA is a partnership between the Office of International Relations (SINTER) and the professors of the Department of Psychology Elka Lima Hostensky (Coordinator), Ligia Feitosa and Lia Vainer Schucman, together with a team of academics.

    The training was aimed at SINTER staff and internationalization agents (there were representatives from Curitibanos, Araranguá and Blumenau campuses). The conceptual bases of welcoming in higher education were presented and workshops were held based on games and situations that involve social, cultural, pedagogical, psychological and other demands of these students.

    Other sectors at UFSC, to which the PEC-G students can be referred to follow-up according to their demands, also participated in the training. The participating sectors were: ACOLHE-UFSC; Prorectorate for Student Affairs (PRAE); Office of Affirmative Action and Diversities (SAAD); Prorectorate for Undergraduate Studies (PROGRAD), through its Pedagogical Support and Evaluation Coordination Office; and the Intercultural Clinic (linked to the Psychology, Migration and Culture Studies Center – NEMPsiC).

    The Office of International Relations (SINTER) announces the list of students approved in the documentation review stage of the selection process for the ESCALA Estudiantes de Grado exchange program, promoted by the Asociación de Universidades Grupo Montevideo [Association of Montevideo Group Universities](AUGM), for exchange in the second semester of 2022, according to the Call for Applications no. 6 SINTER 2022.

  • Applications open for the 2023 Erasmus + UFSC – UHK Mobility Program – until 27 June 2022

    The Office of International Relations (SINTER) announces that applications for the Erasmus + UFSC – UHK Mobility Program are open, according to the Call for Applications no. 11 SINTER 2022. In this edition, the program is targeted at undergraduate students in International Relations, Social Sciences, Philosophy, History, Archival Science, and Social Work who wish to improve their knowledge through an academic exchange at the University of Hradec Králové (UHK), in the Czech Republic, in the first semester of 2023.

  • SINTER launches SINTEGRA project

    Last Wednesday, 24 May, the Office of International Relations (SINTER), in partnership with the Department of Psychology, launched the SINTEGRA outreach project. The launch was held in the School of Socio-Economic Sciences (CSE) Auditorium, from 2 pm to 3:30 pm.

    The SINTEGRA project aims to meet the needs of PEC-G students at UFSC. The Programa de Estudantes-Convênio de Graduação – PEC-G provides students from developing countries with which Brazil maintains educational and cultural agreements the opportunity to pursue their undergraduate studies in Brazilian Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). International students over 18 years old and preferably up to 23 years old, with complete secondary education, are selected to enrol in undergraduate programs in Brazil. PEC-G is administered by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE) and the Ministry of Education (MEC) in partnership with HEIs throughout the country.

    SINTEGRA aims to help the students in their adaptation and integration process at UFSC, discussing academic, cultural, and racial issues. Through the project, students will have greater involvement and will be able to contribute to the improvement of the university.


  • Applications open for the “Exámenes de certificación en español: acercamiento” course

    SINTERThe Institutional Center for Languages and Translation (NILT/SINTER) promotes the second edition of the course “Exámenes de certificación en español: acercamiento” [Getting familiar with Spanish proficiency exams].

    The course introduces four Spanish proficiency exams (CELU, DELE, SIELE and LAPLE (DLLE/UFSC)), whose certificates are the most required for academic mobility and admission to graduate programs. The objective is to familiarize participants with the exam formats, the types of questions, the skills assessed, the time for completion, the assignment of grades/scores and the conditions of offer and validity of the exams.

    Classes will take place between 22 June and 15 July.

    Attention: participants must have knowledge of the Spanish language (written and oral comprehension), as the entire course (classes, materials and activities) will be in Spanish.
