With a view to achieving two of the priorities established by the current international relations managers at UFSC (2022-2026) – “Democratization of international opportunities” and “Improvement of SINTER’s work processes” – the Rector’s Office (GR) has delegated, through the Ordinance No. 1030/2023/GR, the powers to sign cooperation agreements between UFSC and international teaching and research institutions to the Secretary for International Relations. With this action, the time for executing and renewing international agreements will be reduced.
The institutionalization of international cooperation through the establishment of agreements is of interest to UFSC as it enables and democratizes international opportunities for the entire university community. As the vast majority of the signed agreements are broad in scope, their existence makes it possible, for example, for undergraduate students from all subject areas at UFSC to undertake international mobility at partner institutions through the Outgoing program.

The meeting will be in table ronde [round table] format, in which everyone will have to defend their arguments to strengthen their critical thinking and train their debating skills in French.
Course objective: This course aims at engaging the students, offering them the possibility of giving their opinions in French about subjects pre-defined by the teacher or by the participating students.
DATES: every THURSDAY from 10 to 11:30 pm. The meetings will be held in-person, in the Institutional Center for Languages and Translation (NILT), Rectorate Building II (Av. Desembargador Vitor Lima, no. 222)
Start date: 5 September 2022.
The Office of International Relations (SINTER) held a Welcome Session, on 22 August, for international students arriving at UFSC for the second semester of 2022. The session took place at the Rectorate Building Auditorium, on the Trindade Campus, in Florianópolis. The event aimed to broaden the reception to the entire international student community at UFSC. Thus, in addition to the exchange students, the event was also targeted at all degree-seeking international students on campus.

The Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC) will receive until early 2016, a total of 38 foreign students by the Programas de Estudante-Convênio de Graduação ( PEC- G) and Pós-Graduação (PEC- PG). Of the 75 members of the PEC-PG supported this year, seven will study at UFSC, which according to data from the Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (Capes), is the second university in the south of the country that receives the majority of students in the program.
The professor and deputy secretary of Internatinal Relations at UFSC, Luiz Carlos Pinheiro Machado Filho assesses that the agreement student programs reinforce the multi-ethnic character of the University. “In addition to the provided solidarity , we received young people from different countries and continents , to enrich the cultural and academic atmosphere of UFSC . It is thus a two-way cooperation”, he says.
The Office of International Relations (SINTER) publishes the Edital n.º 15/SINTER/2015 (rectified on 23/11/2015), about the Academic Exchange between UFSC and Universidad Andina del Cusco (UANDINA), from Peru.
