On 27 October, the Office of International Relations (SINTER) did a symbolic gesture of great meaning. All the staff and interns wore pink in support of the “Pink October”, the breast cancer awareness month.
In Brazil, the Pink October mobilizations have been taking place since 2002 and they aim to draw women’s attention to the importance of breast cancer prevention and early diagnosis. The campaign has started in 1990, in New York, and nowadays it takes place all over the world.
The Pink October is extremely important for combating the lack of information related to breast cancer, especially with respect to self-examination.
