Important announcement! Enrollment Adjustments for Exchange Students

Please be advised that due to a change in the UFSC Academic Calendar, the period of enrollment adjustments for international students, which would initially be on 9 and 10 August, will be transferred to 10 August only.

Therefore, to make changes on their study plans, add or drop courses, students must go to their academic departments on 10 August (Thursday).

UFSC Student: Join USAC Conversation Partnership Program!

USAC’s Conversation Partnership Program allows UFSC students to meet people from other countries and cultures and to improve their English skills through practice.
The Fall semester starts with some scheduled events, after which you will stay in touch with your partner and all of USAC’s group! The group of students will arrive on August 20 and will stay in town until December 15.

Preliminary Result – UFSC-UHK Scholarship Program

The Office of International Relations (SINTER) announces the list of students selected for the second phase of  the Public Call no. 10/SINTER/2017, which offers scholarships for a semester of study in the University of Hradec Králove, Czech Republic. According to item 8.4 of the call, candidates approved in the first phase are called to the second phase, consisting of an interview conducted in English.

Application for the UFSC-UHK Program – from 3 July to 4 August 2017

Image result for uhkThe Office of International Relations (SINTER) announces that applications for Programa UFSC-UHK are open according to the Public Call no. 10/SINTER/2017. UFSC-UHK Program, created within the scope of the cooperation agreement between Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC) and the University of Hradec Králove (UHK), in the Czech Republic, offers scholarships to undergraduate students from the following programs: Anthropology, Social Sciences, Philosophy or History.  The scholarship will help cover transport, food and accommodation expenses during the period of the exchange program at UHK. All courses will be taught in English, therefore, proficiency in the language is required.

In order to apply, the student must send all the documents listed in the Public Call to the email programas.sinter@contato.ufsc.br, between 03 July and 04 August 2017.

UFSC holds a welcoming lecture to foreign exchange students this Friday

The UFSC Office of International Relations (SINTER) will hold a welcoming lecture to foreign exchange students arriving at UFSC in the second semester of 2017 (Incoming Program 2017.2). The event will be held at the Rectorate Building Auditorium, on Friday, 28 July, at 10:00 am. The meeting will be attended by the Vice-Rector, Alacoque Lorenzini Erdmann, and the Secretary for International Relations, Lincoln Fernandes.

In addition to welcoming students, the lecture aims to present the services provided by SINTER and give general guidance on registration procedures, academic attendance, grades and opportunities for foreign students at UFSC. Students will also be informed about the procedures to regularize their stay in Brazil with a student visa.

Applications for the Programa Escala de Estudiantes de Posgrado

The Office of International Relations (SINTER) announces that applications for the Programa Escala de Estudiantes de Posgrado are open according to the Public Call no. 01/SINTER/2017.

The program is aimed at graduate students enrolled at UFSC. Six scholarships will be offered to cover accommodation and food expenses and the  exemption of fees, three of those for master’s degree students and three for doctoral degree students. Applicants must send all the documents, scanned and in Portable Document Format (.pdf), to the e-mail pos.sinter@contato.ufsc.br.

UFSC is the 15th best university in Latin America, according to THE World University Rankings

Related imageThe Latin America University Rankings results were published today by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings (THE World University Rankings), that ranked the best 50 Universities in Latin America and put UFSC in the 15th position.

The ranking is based on the same rigorous criteria as the THE World University Rankings, but with special modifications to better reflect the qualities of Latin America’s universities.

The evaluation criteria are made ​​from 13 performance indicators, examining all of the universities’ core missions – teaching, research , knowledge transfer and international outlook.
