UFSC Student: Join USAC Conversation Partnership Program!

USAC is an international program that receives undergraduate students from the USA and other countries who come to Brazil to study at UFSC.

The next group of students will arrive on 24 January and will stay in town until mid-May. The group is formed by 20 students – 18 Americans and 2 Swedish.

USAC’s Conversation Partnership Program allows UFSC students to meet people from other countries and cultures and to improve their English skills through practice.

The semester starts in January with some scheduled events, after which you will stay in touch with your partner and all of USAC’s group!

Summer office hours at UFSC

Dear all,

We inform you that from 12 December to 3 March UFSC offices will operate on a summer schedule, according to the Ordinance no. 89/2016/GR.

During this period, SINTER will be open from 10 am to 1 pm, Monday to Friday.

Exceptionally, on 15 December, the office will be open from 9 to 11 am, due to a staff get-together taking place at noon.

Third Call for Erasmus Mundus ELARCH Project – Applications until 1 March 2017

The third call for applications for the Erasmus Mundus ELARCH  is open until 01 March 2017. ELARCH – Euro-Latin America partnership in natural Risk mitigation and protection of the Cultural Heritage is a mobility and scholarship project funded by the European Union.

To candidates from Latin America, 6 scholarships are offered for undergraduate students, 4 scholarships for doctoral students, 9 scholarships for postdoctoral research and 7 scholarships for staff members.

Students from all undergraduate programs at UFSC may apply. The research topic of doctoral and postdoctoral candidates must be in the field of risk mitigation and protection of the cultural heritage of humanity, and those interested should contact the host university to inquire about the graduate program involved in the project.

There are nine European universities to choose from, three of them in Italy, one in Slovenia, two in Portugal, two in Spain and one in Greece.

Those selected will start the mobility from June 2017 and will receive a monthly allowance of € 1000 for undergraduate students, € 1500 for doctoral students, € 1800 for postdoctoral students, and € 2500 for staff members, in addition to travel, insurance and accommodation expenses.
