The Office of International Relations (SINTER) invites the UFSC community to attend a lecture  on the demystification of the U.S. visa application process, which will be held on 5 October 2016 in the Harry Laus Room at the Central Library,. In the event, the public will be able to solve their doubts on how to apply for the different types of U.S. visa, including the student visa.

New USAC class

usacThe University Studies Abroad Consortium (USAC) Fall Program has started on 29 August, at UFSC. USAC is a consortium of universities linked to UFSC via the Office of International Relations (SINTER) since 2013.  This edition, which will take place until 14 December at the Florianópolis Campus, has the participation of 30 international undergraduate students; 26 from American universities, 3 from Sweden and 1 from Norway.

Brazil’s stand at the 2016 EAIE Conference is among the most popular in the event

The EAIE (European Association for International Education) Annual Conference is the second largest international education conference in the world. This year, it takes place in Liverpool, between 13 and 16 September.

Brazil’s stand has occupied the top positions among the most selected exhibitors in the conference application, a result of the efforts of the Brazilian Association for International Education (FAUBAI), the Brazilian Ministry of Education (MEC) and the Brazilian Tourist Board (Embratur) in organizing and facilitating the country’s participation in the event.

UFSC Secretary for International Relations, Prof. Lincoln Fernandes, is representing the university in the event, while he strengthens partnerships and seeks new opportunities for the UFSC community.

Number of courses taught in English increase in Brazilian universities

According to a survey by the British Council and the FAUBAI (Brazilian Association for International Education), conducted by a team led by Professor Carlos Vergani, from the Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP), the internationalization of Brazilian universities is increasingly growing  through the provision of courses taught in English. The survey found 671 programs offering courses in the Englishlanguage in Brazilian higher education institutions. The outcome of the survey is a guide to university courses offered in English in Brazil which will be released this week. The aim of the publication is mainly to disseminate the possibilities of study in the country and attract more foreign students. To read the story in full,click here.
