The Study Buddy Program is a volunteer program in which UFSC students give guidance and assistance to incoming international students on how to proceed in their first days in Florianópolis and at UFSC. In return, it provides our regular students the opportunity to get in contact with students from foreign universities and cultures from all over the world.

If you are a UFSC student and want to become a study buddy, fill in the Studdy Buddy Form, informing your language and gender preference. We would like to remind that Portuguese exchange students also need study buddies, in spite of the language. The information on the international student and his or her respective study buddy will be sent to their personal emails. In case there are not enough study buddies for all exchange students, the selection period will be extended. Application goes from 27 October  to 16 December.

The Brazilian National Immigration Council approved changes in the requirements for foreign students applying for an internship in Brazil. With the changes, foreign students can apply for an internship for a period up to 4 months (120 days) without the need of being enrolled at Brazilian educational institution. The internship contract can now be signed only by the student’s home institution and the Brazilian company hosting the student.

For an internship during a period over 120 days, foreign students must be enrolled at an undergraduate program in Brasil and the internship contract must also be signed by the host Brazilian educational institution, taking into account the temporary student visa period of one year.
