  • Applications open for Virtual Exchange at the University of Hradec Králové (UHK) – Until 20 July 2021

    The Office of International Relations (SINTER) announces that the University of Hradec Králové (UHK), a partner institution of UFSC in the Czech Republic, is offering virtual exchange (e-learning) opportunities for undergraduate students in the areas of Social Work, History, Political Science and Sociology. The participation of UFSC students will be free of charge.

    The classes will be held remotely, synchronously and asynchronously from 20 September until 19 December 2021 and the exams/ tests will take place between 3 January and 4 February 2022.

    The requirements at UHK are:

    • be able to read, write and communicate in English (proof of proficiency is not required);
    • enroll in at least 15 credits

  • AUGM “XXVIII Jornadas de Jóvenes Investigadores” – Applications open

    Applications are open until 16 July 2021 for the XXVIII Jornadas de Jóvenes Investigadores by the Asociación de Universidades Grupo Montevideo (AUGM). The event will take place, virtually, between 10 and 12 November and will be organized by the Universidad de Santiago de Chile (USACH).

  • Preliminary Results of the Selection Process for the Course English as a Medium of Instruction (EMI)

    The Office of International Relations (SINTER) announces the preliminary list of selected professors for the course English as a Medium of Instruction (EMI), in accordance with the Call for Applications 10 SINTER 2021:

  • SINTER announces Call for Applications for the free course ‘English as a Medium of Instruction’ offered by the Consulate General of the United States

    The Consulate General of the United States in Porto Alegre, through its Regional Office for English Language Instruction (RELO), the Online Professional English Network (OPEN), and Ohio University, are offering UFSC professors the course English as a Medium of Instruction (EMI).

    It will be an eight-week online course in English with Ohio University, starting on 23 August to 23 November  2021. The course is free of charge and there are 10 openings for UFSC professors to be selected by SINTER.

    The target audience is UFSC permanent faculty members (not retired) who are proficient in English (B2, C1, C2) and who offer or intend to offer extension courses and regular courses in their respective areas of knowledge in English.

    The objective of this training is to provide teachers with tools and methodologies to develop strategies for teaching disciplinary content in English and share their learning and materials with other professors, thus contributing to the internationalization of UFSC.

    The course will enable them to identify the challenges professors and students face in their EMI classes and develop strategies to help students learn the course content while developing or improving their English language skills. In addition, professors will be in an international group with participants from around the world.

    Topics include course design, program development, creating lessons and materials, interactive teaching in English, and supporting learning through technology.

    The course, developed by Ohio University, will be in English and will require approximately 8-10 hours of work/week.

  • Final Results – Erasmus + UFSC – UAB Undergraduate Program

    The Office of International Relations (SINTER) announces the final list of the pre-selected students for the Erasmus + UFSC – UAB,  according to the Call 9 SINTER 2021 UAB Undergraduate Program :

  • UFSC hosts online welcome reception for international students 2021.01

    The Office of International Relations (SINTER) will hold on Friday, 11th June, the online welcome reception for international students who will begin their studies in the virtual modality in the first semester of 2021 at UFSC.

    Exchange students are entering UFSC through Bilateral Agreements or through partnerships with associations and federal programs.  For this semester, the international students in the Incoming Program are from France, Italy, Peru and the United Kingdom; and from Argentina and Uruguay through the AUGM Program.  UFSC will also welcome a student from Honduras through the Exchange Program for Undergraduate Students (PEC-G).

     

    The event will be broadcasted on youtube at 2pm (Brasília time).
