Announcement for PEC-G students at UFSC

18:21:20

The Exchange Program for Undergraduate Students (Programa de Estudantes-Convênio de Graduação – PEC-G) provides students from developing countries with which Brazil maintains educational, cultural or scientific and technological agreements the opportunity to pursue their undergraduate studies in Brazilian Higher Education Institutions (HEIs).

Related to this program, the Ministry of Education (MEC), through The Milton Santos Project for Access to Higher Education (Projeto Milton Santos de Acesso ao Ensino Superior – PROMISAES) offers a financial aid to PEC-G students regularly enrolled at a Federal HEI to support their studies. The Ministry of Education transfers the budget to the HEI so that they, through a call for applications, transfer the grant to the students contemplated.

However, in 2021, the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC), did not get any information from the Ministry of receiving the resource, and many students are seriously suffering from socio-economic insufficiency.

Thus, in order to minimize the negative impact of the situation, UFSC will provide, on an extraordinary basis, the value of a monthly permanence grant to the students.

The Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina will continue waiting to receive the total amount from MEC to provide the financial aid to the students on a monthly basis.

The performance indicators are grouped into five areas: Teaching; Research; Citations; International Outlook; and Industry Income.

This year, 52 Brazilian Universities were ranked, and 6 institutions were included for the first time.

The Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC) was ranked 158th in the overall ranking.
