The Institutional Center for Languages and Translation (NILT), managed by the Office of International Relations (SINTER), announced that registration is open for the Introduction to Brazilian Portuguese – A1 [Level 2] course. The course is free and intended for the entire international community at UFSC and the foreign community in general.

Virtual signing ceremony with UPN Veteran Jakarta.
The signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Universitas Pembangunan Nasional Veteran Jakarta (UPNVJ) and the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC) was held online this Monday, 3 April.
The ceremony’s objectives were to: establish and strengthen an official cooperation between UPNVJ and UFSC; evaluate the opportunity for other forms of cooperation between UPNVJ and UFSC; and discuss the implementation of the program in the MoU’s area of cooperation.
The signing of the MoU aims to strengthen Indonesia’s relationship and cooperation in various fields with countries in Latin America, especially Brazil.

At the virtual ceremony, together with the UPNVJ representatives, the following UFSC authorities were present: the Rector, Dr. Irineu Manoel de Souza, the Head of the Rector’s Office, Dr. Bernardo Meyer, the Secretary for International Relations, Dr. Luiz Carlos Pinheiro Machado Filho, the Director of International Relations, Dr. Fernanda Geremias Leal, the Acting International Agreements Coordinator, Luciana Miashiro Lima, and the English/Portuguese Translator and Interpreter, Paula Eduarda Michels.
On 31 March, a group of Luxembourg deputies were at UFSC to get to know the University and to discuss partnerships for international student mobility, double degree and doctoral sandwich programs.
The Director of International Relations, Fernanda Leal, and the Head of the Rector’s Office, Professor Bernando Meyer, presented to the visitors the main information about UFSC. Mr. Valberto Césio May, from the Association of Luxembourg Citizens of Brazil and Ms. Nadia Mellina, Counselor at the Embassy of Luxembourg in Brazil, were also present in the meeting.
