UFSC launches Brazilian Portuguese Survival Course for foreign students

Notícias da UFSCThe Brazilian Portuguese Survival Course is an initiative of the Office of International Relations (SINTER) in partnership with the Office of Distance Education (SEAD) at UFSC. The aim is to train students, faculty and staff from universities all around the world to communicate in basic Portuguese and to carry out mobility and academic cooperation activities at UFSC.

The online, asynchronous and self-instructional course totals 20 hours and is organized into five learning modules, each comprising three lessons. At the end of each lesson, students complete activities in a “Practice Time” session.  The modules also feature a “Cultureme” session, which introduces aspects of the Brazilian culture, and a “Tip Time” session, which brings useful information to help students handle the new language.

Erasmus + UHK Faculty Mobility Program – Preliminary Results of UFSC’s Pre-Selection

The Office of International Relations (SINTER) announces the preliminary results of the pre-selection for the Erasmus+ UFSC ‒ UHK Faculty Mobility Program, according to the Call for Applications no. 20/SINTER/2021.

UFSC Observatory is launched with more than 300 indicators on 21 areas of activity at the University

This Tuesday, 30 November, the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC) promoted the official launch of the UFSC Observatory, a platform for transparency and management support that integrates, in a single environment, data and information from various domains of the institution. The University now expects to foster the internationalization of the Observatory, present the platform in other languages and increase partnerships with other institutions.

The online ceremony was opened by the Rector, Ubaldo Cesar Balthazar, who greeted those present and shared an overview of the Observatory. “The purpose of this platform is to provide an overview of the most varied topics, relevant not only to university management but also to the academic community, control bodies and society as a whole.” The Observatory debuts this Tuesday with more than 300 indicators on 21 areas of activity at UFSC, and will be gradually expanded. One of the areas presented is internationalization, which includes data on international cooperation agreements, exchanges and partner institutions. Access the internationalization panel here.

Invitation to all professors : new courses to be added to the Catalogue of Courses offered in Foreign Languages

SINTER invites professors and coordinators of undergraduate and graduate program to bo part of  the initiative to offer more foreign languages courses. The initiative that has been taking place since the second half of 2018, consists of increasing the availability of courses in the “Catalogue of Courses offered in Foreign Languages” in 2022, in order to strengthen the transversal internationalization between UFSC and foreign partner universities.

 

For this, professors and undergraduate and graduate coordinators must fill out the electronic form (https://forms.gle/BUovDLVJrJSBFTdR9 ) by 12 December with the courses that they would like to be available in the Catalogue, which may be reused according to the number of courses to be offered.

 

Furthermore, on the form, the title and description of the required course in a foreign language must be registered, as the Catalogue will be made available on the UFSC website as well as disclosed to partner institutions.

Erasmus+UHK Program: Opportunity for International Mobility Program – applications open

SINTER announces that applications are open for the Erasmus + UFSC Program– UHK 2021 for faculty mobility, according to the CALL 20 SINTER 2021. This edition of the Erasmus + UFSC Mobility Program – UHK 2021 is aimed at  professors who are permanent staff of UFSC and develop teaching activities in the areas of History, Archeology, Philosophy, Sociology, Political Science and International Relations and who are proficient in the English language .

Outgoing Program Information – Call for Applications 2021

The Office of International Relations (SINTER) reminds all interested that the Outgoing Program will be closed for applications in the coming months of December and January.

We advise that those students who choose a host institution that requires UFSC to apply for a place between 21 December and 31 January, to apply in the UFSC online application system, necessarily, until 30 November 2021 .

The Outgoing Program will not manage applications for students who are not registered in the UFSC online application system.

The Call for 2022 will be released in January.
