The Institutional Center for Languages and Translation (NILT/SINTER) promotes the course “Cultural texts in German: a translation practice”. Classes will take place between 7 and 17 March 2022. Students will be able to recognize cultural aspects in German language texts and understand how functionalist theory can help in the translation of these elements.
Registration is open until 6 March and there are 20 available seats. Participants must have knowledge of the German language for the translation tasks. The synchronous classes will be taught via Google Meet on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, from 7 pm to 8 pm, by Juliana de Abreu (who holds an undergraduate degree in German Language and Literature and a Master’s and a Doctoral degree in Translation Studies – PGET/UFSC).
On Monday, 7 March, participants will receive a welcome message by email with information about how the course will be organized.

Our office is open from 10 am to 4 pm, Monday through Friday. According to the instructions contained in the Circular Letter No. 9/2022/GR, the use of face masks is mandatory in all on-campus indoor settings.

Applications are now open for the Study Buddy Program intended for undergraduate exchange students who will arrive at UFSC for the 2022.1 semester.
The Study Buddy Program is a volunteer program in which UFSC students give guidance and assistance to incoming exchange students on how to proceed in their first days in Florianópolis and at UFSC. In return, it provides our regular students the opportunity to get in contact with students from foreign universities and cultures from all over the world.
This is a wonderful opportunity for you to start your exchange experience. You will practice another language, get to know other cultures and make foreign friends at UFSC!
