Conference: Emerging technologies and changing dynamics of information
From 7 to 9 September 2021 the Conference “Emerging Technologies and Changing Dynamics of Information” will take place online.
The conference will feature speakers from several countries, including: Brazil, India, Russia, United Kingdom, Spain, among others, addressing topics such as: Multilingualism, Information Accessibility, Information Development, Information Ethics, and many others.
We would like to highlight that the event is organised by the UNESCO Chair of Language Policies for Multilingualism, whose coordinator and leader of session 6 is Professor Gilvan Muller de Oliveira, from UFSC.

Selection process for scholarship holders of the Institutional Center for Languages and Translation – NILT
The Office of International Relations (SINTER) announces the opening of the Simplified Selection Process for scholarship holders of the Institutional Center for Languages and Translation (NILT), according to the Call 15/SINTER/2021.
There will be 2 scholarships available, one for content writer and the other one for tutor. Undergraduate and graduate students at UFSC who meet one of the following criteria can apply:
– Have advanced knowledge of the English language;
– Have a degree in English Language and Literature and/or Executive Secretariat or be a student enrolled in one of these degrees;
– Knowledge of principles of academic writing in the English language (have completed the course “LLE7497 – English VII: Academic Writing” or “LLE5047: Business Writing in English II”);
– Have completed all “Writing in English” courses by the time of application, with an average grade of 8.0 (eight) or above.
Applications open until 6 September 2021, according to the Call.
NILT:
The Institutional Center for Languages and Translation was created to promote and foment the internationalization process of UFSC through the development of language policies and language courses with an international focus. Among the NILT’s initiatives is the offer of remote language courses to students, professors and administrative staff members, aiming at preparing them for the proficiency exams required by foreign universities and for the intercultural, international and global learning experience in the internationalization process.
