On 5 March, the Administrative Support Coordinator of the Office of International Relations (SINTER), Rafaela Ribeiro Céspedes, visited Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM) by invitation of the International Support Advisor of UFSM.

The purpose of the visit was to meet with UFSM staff members and present the methodology used by SINTER to submit data for international university rankings, highlighting the procedures and tools used at UFSC for such activity. Besides the International Support Advisor and Deputy Advisor, the staff of the Office of International Support (SAI/UFSM), the Prorector for Research and Graduate Studies, the Research Coordinator and the staff of the Prorectorate for Planning also participated in the meeting.
The applications for the 2020.1 UFSC Assistance Programs are open until 13 April 2020. The assistance is aimed at international students holding a temporary visa IV (VITEM IV) and Mercosur students holding a temporary visa XIII (VITEM XIII) enrolled in undergraduate programs at any UFSC campus.

On 28 February, the Office of International Relations (SINTER) will hold a welcome session for international students who will be joining UFSC in the first semester of 2020. The event will take place at the Shared Building’s (EFI) Auditorium, at 9 a.m., and will have the participation of the University’s Vice-Rector, Prorectors, the Secretary for International Relations, other secretaries and external guests. In addition to welcoming the students, the session will include cultural activities and a coffee break.

Between 17 and 22 February, UFSC is hosting the fourth edition of the Summer School of the Asociación de Universidades Grupo Montevideo (AUGM)’s Academic Committee of Cooperative and Associative Processes (PROCOAS).
The opening ceremony took place at the UFSC School of Agricultural Sciences (CCA), with the participation of Professor Diogo Robl – Director of International Relations (SINTER/UFSC), Professor Pedro Manique Barreto – Prorector for Student Affairs (PRAE/UFSC, Professor César Damian – Vice Director of the School of Agricultural Sciences (CCA/UFSC), Professor Arcângelo Loss – Coordinator of PROCOAS-AUGM, and Professor Oscar Rover – Coordinator of the 2020 PROCOAS Summer School.

Welcome to USAC Buddy Program!
USAC is an international program which receives undergraduate students from the USA, among other countries, who come to Brazil to study at UFSC. The next group of students will stay in the country from 22 January 2020 to 8 May 2020.
The USAC Study Buddy Program is an initiative for UDESC (Universidade do Estado de Santa Catarina) and UFSC students to have an exchange experience by getting to know students of other countries, learning about their cultures, and improving their English skills.
