To enhance accessibility for international audiences and support institutional internationalization, the Office of International Relations (SINTER), through its Translation Service, has included an English-language page on the websites of UFSC Academic Schools, with key information for the visitors.

Accessible via the “Information in English” button located in the right-hand menu of each website, the page provides essential information, including a brief introduction to the school; the departments, undergraduate and graduate programs offered; a link to the faculty list; and contact details.

Academic Schools that have not yet submitted the required information for their page are requested to send it to the Translation Service via email at traducao.sinter@contato.ufsc.br by 20 December.

This initiative is focused on academic schools located on the Florianópolis campus, as the other campuses already feature bilingual websites accessible via a flag icon at the top of the page.

Important Notice to UFSC’s International Community: Deadlines for National Migrant Registration (RNM) Issuance and Renewal

14:57:12

The Office of International Relations (SINTER), through its International Support service, assists UFSC’s international community with obtaining and renewing the National Migrant Registration (RNM) at the Federal Police (PF).

As part of this process, it is the responsibility of the immigrant to provide the required documentation and attend an interview at the Federal Police on the scheduled date.

We would also like to emphasize that it is the responsibility of immigrants to stay informed about the deadlines for renewing their RNM. International community members must contact SINTER’s International Support service in a timely manner to submit the necessary documentation and comply with any other requirements set by the PF.

Recently, we were informed that some international students at UFSC have been fined by the PF for failing to apply for RNM renewal within the established deadline. Please note that these fines are imposed by the Federal Police and are beyond UFSC’s control, meaning SINTER cannot assist in reversing the situation.

To avoid penalties, we strongly urge all international students to be aware of deadlines and submit the required renewal documents at least 60 days before their RNM expires.

For further details on RNM renewal procedures, please click here.

If you have any questions or need assistance, feel free to contact us via email at imigracao.sinter@contato.ufsc.br.
