Registrations open for USAC 2019.2 courses in English

Registrations are open for the USAC courses taught in English in the second semester 2019. Students interested in attending the courses must go to USAC’s office (Room 219, Building A – CCE) from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. (Monday to Friday) for a brief interview in English and to complete the registration. If it is not possible to register in person, contact USAC at + 55 48 3721 6208 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. To attend the courses, an advanced level of English is required, especially in listening and speaking skills, since student participation during class discussions is essential.

Registration period: from 24 to 27 September 2019 – 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Vice-president of Alumni Canada Brasil, UFSC graduate promotes lecture about study opportunities in Canada

On 25 September, at 12 p.m., the Office of International Relations along with Alumni Canada Brasil, a nonprofit network supported by the Canadian Consulate in Brazil, will promote a lecture about scholarship programs in Canada – including the Emerging Leaders in the Americas Program. The lecture will be delivered by Jéssica Sbroglia, UFSC graduate and current vice-president of Alumni Canada Brasil, at the Elke Hering Auditorium in the Central Library on the Trindade Campus. The event will also present and invite students to participate in the Alumni Mentorship Program, which aims to connect experienced mentors and mentees interested in continuing their studies in Canada. Graduate and undergraduate students are the target audience.

The Resident Director of the Universities Study Abroad Consortium (USAC) in Florianópolis, in the exercise of his powers, and considering the cooperation agreement between USAC Exchange Program and the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures of UFSC, announces an amendment in the Call for Applications for the USAC Scholarships:

Where it reads:

5.2. In order to apply for the scholarships, UFSC administrative staff members must fulfill the following requirements:

I – Have received performance evaluation grade equal to or higher than 7.0;

II – Have no unjustified absence.

It should read:

5.2. In order to apply for the scholarships, UFSC administrative staff members must fulfill the following requirements:

I – Have received performance evaluation grade equal to or higher than 3.5;

II – Have no unjustified absence.

SINTER promotes lecture on University Studies in Spain

On 12 September, the Office of International Relations (SINTER) promoted a lecture with the assessor of the Embassy of Spain’s Education Office in Brasília, Francisco López, who presented general information about the Spanish university system. The main topics covered were the requirements to study in the country, the way scholarships work and the Spanish proficiency certificates.

Applications open for the USAC scholarships 2019

The Resident Director of the Universities Study Abroad Consortium (USAC) in Florianópolis, Renato Carvalho, in the exercise of his powers, and considering the cooperation agreement between USAC Exchange Program and the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures of UFSC, has published the Call for Applications for the USAC scholarships 2019. Five full scholarships will be offered to Foreign Language and Literature undergraduate students (Licenciatura) and one scholarship will be offered to UFSC administrative staff members.
