The Resident Director of the Universities Study Abroad Consortium (USAC) in Florianópolis, in the exercise of his powers, and pursuant to the Call for Applications of 16 September 2019, announces the preliminary results of the selection process of UFSC administrative staff members to participate in a study program at the Intensive English Language Center (IELC), in the University of Nevada, USA. The selected applicant will receive a scholarship for the Summer Session (June – August).
6 applicants were selected in accordance with item 8.4 of the Call.
The approved applicants, listed below in alphabetical order, will be called for the interviews that will take place on 4 October 2019 at the School of Communication and Arts (CCE):

The Resident Director of the Universities Study Abroad Consortium (USAC) in Florianópolis, in the exercise of his powers, and pursuant to the Call for Applications of 16 September 2019, announces the preliminary results of the selection process of undergraduate students from the UFSC Foreign Language and Literature licenciatura programs to participate in an exchange program. One student from each Language and Literature program (English, French, German, Italian and Spanish) will receive a scholarship to study for one semester or during the summer session (June – August) in a specialty program abroad.
Up to 5 applicants were selected per program, in accordance with item 7.3 of the Call. The second stage results will be announced until 4 October 2019. according to item 7.4 of the Call.

On 25 September, students of the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina were able to attend a lecture delivered by Jéssica Sborglia, UFSC graduate and current vice-president of Alumni Canada Brasil, about undergraduate and graduate opportunities in Canada. The lecture took place at the Elke Hering Auditorium in the Central Library, on the Trindade Campus, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.

Registrations are open for the USAC courses taught in English in the second semester 2019. Students interested in attending the courses must go to USAC’s office (Room 219, Building A – CCE) from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. (Monday to Friday) for a brief interview in English and to complete the registration. If it is not possible to register in person, contact USAC at + 55 48 3721 6208 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. To attend the courses, an advanced level of English is required, especially in listening and speaking skills, since student participation during class discussions is essential.
Registration period: from 24 to 27 September 2019 – 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

On 25 September, at 12 p.m., the Office of International Relations along with Alumni Canada Brasil, a nonprofit network supported by the Canadian Consulate in Brazil, will promote a lecture about scholarship programs in Canada – including the Emerging Leaders in the Americas Program. The lecture will be delivered by Jéssica Sbroglia, UFSC graduate and current vice-president of Alumni Canada Brasil, at the Elke Hering Auditorium in the Central Library on the Trindade Campus. The event will also present and invite students to participate in the Alumni Mentorship Program, which aims to connect experienced mentors and mentees interested in continuing their studies in Canada. Graduate and undergraduate students are the target audience.
